Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the Systematicly platform at research.systematicly.com (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Systematicly is an AI-assisted research platform that provides tools for systematic reviews, meta-analyses, primary research, ethics applications, research proposals, and statistical analysis. The Service uses artificial intelligence (including the Anthropic Claude API) to assist with research tasks.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement to use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

4. Account Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@systematicly.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

5. Intellectual Property — Your Data

You retain full ownership of all data you upload to Systematicly, including datasets, manuscripts, research notes, and any other content you create or import. We do not claim ownership of your data. Your data is never used to train AI models.

You grant Systematicly a limited licence to process your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service (e.g. running statistical analyses, generating AI-assisted outputs, storing your projects).

6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Systematicly provides AI-assisted research tools. All AI-generated outputs — including statistical analyses, screening recommendations, manuscript drafts, and clinical interpretations — are provided as decision support, not as definitive findings.

You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy and appropriateness of all outputs before use in publications, grant applications, clinical decisions, or any other purpose. Statistical results should be independently verified against established reference implementations (e.g. R, SPSS) before publication.

Systematicly does not provide medical, legal, clinical, or professional advice. The platform is a research tool, not a substitute for professional judgement.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Upload content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others
• Attempt to circumvent subscription limits, access controls, or rate limiting
• Use the Service to generate fabricated or falsified research data
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
• Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service beyond the provided API
• Share your account credentials with others

8. Subscription Plans and Payment

Systematicly offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe. You agree to pay all fees associated with your chosen plan. Prices may change with 30 days' notice. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact hello@systematicly.com.

9. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your personal information will be removed within 30 days. Anonymised audit logs may be retained for security purposes. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Systematicly and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to: incorrect statistical outputs, AI-generated errors, data loss, or reliance on any output produced by the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Service Availability

We aim to provide reliable access to the Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or factors beyond our control.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of New South Wales.
